Khalid Mentak

Khalid (Kal) Mentak, PhD, currently serves as a Board Member at HCP Cureblindness since March 2019, focusing on global initiatives to eliminate needless blindness. Mentak is a Venture Partner at Zühlke Group and has been the Chairman of the Board at ClearSight since February 2018, where efforts are directed towards developing next-generation ophthalmic implants. Previously, Mentak was the President and CEO of Tenon Medical, Inc., from August 2015 to June 2021, where innovative procedures for chronic back pain were launched. Throughout a significant career in the medical device and biotechnology sectors, Mentak has held leadership roles, including CEO and Founder at various companies, notably Key Medical Technologies, Adoptics AG, and Advanced Vision Science Inc. Mentak holds a Ph.D. in Materials Sciences and Engineering from the University of Florida, earned in 1993.
