Max Allen

Max Allen holds the position of Senior Vice President and Chief of Staff at Clemson University since June 2015, previously serving as Chief of Staff at the University of North Carolina Wilmington from 2003 to May 2015, where responsibilities included advising the Chancellor and managing operations. A member of the National Association of Presidential Assistants from 1998 to 2013, Max Allen served as Past President of the Board during 2012-2013. Prior experience includes serving as Executive Assistant to the President and Director of University Relations at Georgia College & State University from 1994 to 2003 and a notable tenure as a Naval Officer in the US Navy from 1977 to May 1994, where public affairs duties included high-profile events such as the Challenger rescue operations and a presidential visit by Ronald Reagan. Max Allen earned a Bachelor of Science in Geography and Communications from Jacksonville University between 1973 and 1977.
