Abbas Sumar

Abbas Sumar has a wide range of work experience spanning over three decades. Abbas most recently worked as a Partner Business Manager at Cleura starting in March 2023. Before that, they were a Managing Partner and Consultant at Moxit Consulting AB, where they provided business development, product strategy, and go-to-market consulting services to businesses and start-ups. Abbas also defined and implemented channel distribution and business growth through partnerships, as well as supported and implemented product management activities.

Prior to Moxit Consulting AB, Abbas worked at MediaTek Inc. as an IoT Business Development & Developer Relations Manager from October 2014 to December 2017. While there, they played a key role in developing the IoT business and managing relations with developers.

Abbas also has experience at Sony Mobile Communications, where they held various roles including Content Business Development Manager, Developer and Partner Engagement Manager - Asia Pacific, and Application Acquisition Manager. In these positions, they managed strategic partner accounts, scouted trends, identified new business partnerships, and established a mobile content partner program in the APAC region.

Earlier in their career, Abbas worked at Ericsson - China as the Head of Customer Solutions and Partnering - Greater China. Abbas also worked at Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications as a Product Manager, Content and Application Development, and at Melody Interactive Solutions AB as a Product and Marketing Manager.

Before that, Abbas worked at Ericsson Internet Applications AB as a Product Marketing Manager, where they evangelized and provided marketing support for wireless data technologies, and at Ericsson Radio Systems AB as a Technical Product Manager. Abbas also worked at Ericsson Business Networks AB as a Project Manager and Team Leader for Software Development.

Overall, Abbas Sumar has extensive experience in business development, product strategy, go-to-market consulting, partner management, content development, and marketing across various industries and regions.

From 1985 to 1989, Abbas Sumar attended Uppsala University, where they obtained a Masters degree in Computer Science.
