Stephen McCanless

Stephen W. McCanless currently serves as Superintendent at Cleveland ISD, a position held since June 2021, after progressing through various roles within the same district, including Interim Superintendent and Executive Director of Operations. Stephen W.'s career in education began in 1995, with multiple positions such as ELA Teacher and Assistant Principal across several school districts, leading to significant administrative roles including Principal at Channelview ISD, where two campuses were successfully opened. McCanless holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Lamar University, a Superintendent Certification, and a Master's degree in Education Management from the University of Houston-Clear Lake.
