Sean Brewster

Director Of Special Events at The Cleveland Orchestra

Sean Brewster has a diverse work experience in various roles and organizations. Sean started their career as a Non-Profit Arts Organization Intern at CityMusic Columbus in 2013. Later that year, they worked as a Grant Research Intern at Community Shares of Mid Ohio, researching and compiling lists of possible grants for member organizations.

In 2014, Sean had multiple internships. Sean worked as a Summer Fellow at The Columbus Foundation's Summer Fellowship Program, gaining career-related work experience in the nonprofit sector. Sean also served as a Volunteer Stewardship Intern at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio, creating a Volunteer Stewardship Plan for the organization. Additionally, Sean held the position of Arts Award Coordinator at the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Ohio, where they gained extensive experience in administration, social networking, budgeting, grant writing, and event planning.

From 2015 to 2017, Sean served as the Executive Director of the Westerville Symphony at Otterbein University, overseeing the organization's operations and strategic planning.

In 2017, Sean joined the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Ohio again, this time as the Events & Office Manager, responsible for managing events and office operations.

Most recently, Sean has been working at The Cleveland Orchestra since 2019. Sean started as a Special Events Coordinator and then progressed to roles of Interim Director of Special Events and currently holds the position of Director of Special Events.

Throughout their career, Sean has developed a diverse skill set in event planning, administration, grant writing, volunteer management, and nonprofit leadership.

Sean Brewster earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Music & Business from Otterbein University, where they studied from 2011 to 2015.
