Jo Sanson

Program Impact Manager at ClimateWorks Australia

Jo leads the Land Use Futures program, a multi-year initiative developing pathways to sustainable land use for Australia. She works closely with research collaborators at Deakin University and other stakeholders across the food and land use system to find and support pathways that can produce sufficient, healthy food while meeting climate and environmental targets.

Jo has over 20 years of experience in program management and evaluation, specialising in climate resilience, livelihoods and food security programs. She has provided technical assistance to the World Bank, as well as governments and NGOs in Latin America, West Africa, and Central and South Asia.

In previous roles, Jo was the Senior Director for Evaluation and Learning for a New York based NGO, Trickle Up, and has worked for the Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia in Kazakhstan, the Red Cross and for Oxfam Australia.

Jo holds a Masters in Social Science (International Development) from RMIT University and a Bachelor of Arts with first class Honors (Political Science) from the University of Melbourne.
