Francois Maree is a highly experienced researcher and director in the fields of biologics and infectious diseases, currently serving as Research Director at Clinglobal and Director at Clinomics. With a long-standing career at the Agricultural Research Council from 2003 to 2021, Francois was designated as a foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) subject matter expert for the WOAH/FAO reference laboratory in South Africa. Significant contributions include leading projects on FMD, investigating the persistence of FMD virus in African buffalo, and managing research at a biosafety level 3 facility to develop improved vaccine seed viruses. Additionally, Francois held the position of Extraordinary Lecturer at the University of Pretoria, focusing on post-graduate training and undergraduate virology. Francois earned a PhD in Genetics from the University of Pretoria between 1995 and 2001. Early career experience includes roles as a researcher at Medpath Group Inc. and a medical technician at Ampath Laboratories.
