DeeDee Meadows

DeeDee Meadows has over 20 years of experience working in the medical field. DeeDee began their career in 2000 as a Medical Technologist at Atrium Health/Carolinas Healthcare System, where they utilized PCR assay techniques to test for genetic disorders and cancer, performed gel electrophoresis, utilized southern blotting technique for the detection of Fragile X Syndrome, monitored patients who are infected with HIV, HBV, HCV and CMV, and performed quantitative and qualitative Real-Time PCR testing for EBV, Enterovirus, HSV, HHV-6, CMV and BK Virus. DeeDee also participated in the validation of primers and quality control for assays performed in the lab, as well as preventive maintenance for equipment in the lab.

In 2013, Meadows began working as a Medical Technologist at Iredell Health System, where they monitored patients infected with HIV, HBV, HCV and CMV using COBAS Ampliprep and COBAS Taqman system, performed Factor V Leiden, Prothrombin, MTHFR and Respiratory Viral Panel testing using the Luminex, and analyzed assays using the Applied Biosystems 3500.

Most recently, Meadows has been working as a Project Manager at Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) since 2021.

DeeDee Meadows attended Appalachian State University from 1995 to 2001, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology/Technologist. DeeDee then attended Carolinas College of Health Sciences from 2000 to 2001, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology/Technologist. DeeDee also holds Medical Technologist and Molecular Pathology certifications from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
