Simon Jacobs

Simon Jacobs is the Group Chief Operating Officer at Close Brothers since August 2023, bringing extensive experience in financial services leadership. Previously, Jacobs served as Chief Operating Officer at Sainsbury's Bank from September 2020 to August 2023, overseeing customer service and business transformation for multiple financial products. At NatWest Group from May 2014 to June 2020, Jacobs held the role of Chief Administrative Officer for Commercial & Private Banking, focusing on delivering exceptional customer service and operational efficiencies. From November 2013 to March 2020, Jacobs also chaired the Board of Trustees for NatWest Social & Community Capital, facilitating funding for social enterprises. Earlier career roles include various senior positions at Royal Bank of Scotland Group and Deloitte Consulting, along with credit risk and project management at Barclays Bank PLC. Jacobs holds a Bachelor of Social Science degree in Economics from the University of Birmingham.
