Neil Rutland has a diverse work experience spanning over 13 years. Neil started their career in 2007 as a Helpdesk Analyst at Charles Taylor plc, where they provided support for desktop hardware and software. From there, they moved on to become a Business Systems Analyst, responsible for software support and resolving data errors on a back-end SQL database. Neil then took on the role of Senior Business Systems Analyst, where they managed new releases and developed team processes. Neil later became the P&I Systems Support & Reporting Team Leader, coordinating application support and reporting resources for the company's line of business system. Neil also served as the BI Development Team Leader, where they led a team of four to analyze and develop business intelligence solutions. In their most recent role as Data Governance Lead at CLS Group, Neil led a team in implementing the organization's data governance strategy and enabled proactive management of data assets. Neil has experience with SQL, BI tools, data warehouse load processes, and team management.
Neil Rutland has a diverse education history. Neil obtained their A Levels from St. Martins School, Hutton, where they studied Maths, IT, Geography, and English Literature from 2001 to 2003. Following this, they attended the University of Lincoln from 2003 to 2006, where they pursued a BSc degree in Games Computing, specializing in Software Development.
In addition to their formal education, Neil Rutland has acquired several certifications. Neil obtained the MCSE Sql Server 2005 certification from Microsoft in November 2009. Neil also holds various Coursera Course Certificates, including R Programming, The Data Scientist's Toolbox, Getting and Cleaning Data, Reproducible Research, Exploratory Data Analysis, Statistical Inference, and Regression Models, which were obtained between 2015 and 2017.
More recently, Neil Rutland has achieved a series of Data Management and Governance certifications. Neil obtained the Data Management Fundamentals Exam: Master Level certification from Canvas Credentials (Badgr) in August 2021. Neil followed this up with the Data Quality Exam: Associate Level in November 2021 and the Data Governance Exam: Associate Level in January 2022, both from the same institution. Additionally, Neil Rutland obtained the DAMA CDMP Certification - Practitioner from Canvas Credentials (Badgr) in January 2022.
Lastly, in December 2018, Neil Rutland earned the MicroStrategy 10 Certified Specialist Analyst (MCSA) certification from MicroStrategy.
