Andres Carvallo is the CEO and Founder of CMG Consulting LLC, a strategy consulting and advisory company focused on Smart Grids, Smart Utilities, Smart Cities, and Smart Buildings. Andres has extensive experience in these areas, having built a library of over 500 use cases and 20 frameworks.
Carvallo is also involved in academia, working as a Co-Director of CIEDAR (Connected Infrastructure for Education, Demonstration & Applied Research) at Texas State University. Throughout their career, Carvallo has been actively involved in industry consortia and organizations, including serving as a Board Director for the Smart Grid Interoperability Panel (SGIP). Andres has also been involved with the Utilities Telecom Council, specifically its Smart Networks Council.
Carvallo's expertise and contributions extend beyond their professional positions. Andres has served as the Chairman of the Energy Thought Summit, a premier energy media platform, and has been an advisor to various universities and institutions.
Andres Carvallo received their Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Kansas in 1986. Andres pursued further studies in Power Utility Management at the University of Idaho, although the specific degree earned is not mentioned. Additionally, they undertook studies in Quality Management at The Wharton School in 1993 and Business Management at Stanford University in 1992.
