Gary Chandler

Co-Director CMS Electrical/Electronic Division at CMS WorldGroup

Over forty years of experience in electronics and controls. Ten years military experience performing direct hands-on electronic repair and maintenance of aviation flight control systems. Followed by several years installing and maintaining UPS equipment. Thirteen years of supervising the operation, maintenance, and installation, of critical support systems for a telephone company. Equipment serviced included chillers, diesel generators, switchgear, building security and automation systems.

Held management positions to oversee programs involving electronic controls and equipment. The first management position was Director of Engineering at ESI. 12 years were spent on design and project management projects involving critical support systems and facilities. A highlight was a 50-million-dollar web farm built in Brazil.

Subsequently, Senior Project Manager, focused on high power and high voltage diesel generator systems for Ring Power. All projects included extensive electronic control systems for speed control, voltage regulation, fuel pumping/transfer, and circuit overcurrent coordination and protection.

The following six years were spent building a startup national field service company as the Operations Manager. A major focus of his responsibilities was the training of every service technician. This position prompted an intentional career change to instructional positions. Currently, Gary teaches Mechatronics at St Petersburg College and Hillsborough Community College.
