Melanie Hoad

Melanie Hoad is a legal professional with extensive experience in the insurance industry, currently serving as the VP, Head of Legal, Risk and Compliance for CNA Insurance in Canada since July 2019. In this role, Melanie manages legal, enterprise risk, and compliance functions and provides legal advice to various business units. Previous positions include VP, Head of Legal and Compliance and AVP, Legal Counsel at CNA, and Counsel for Global Litigation at Chubb, where Melanie supported all lines of business. Earlier career highlights include practicing insurance defense litigation and commercial litigation at Dooley Barristers, Purser Dooley Cockburn Smith LLP, Beard Winter LLP, and a co-op position at Goodman and Carr. Melanie holds an LL.B. from Western University and a B.A. from McGill University.
