Americo Martins

Americo Martins is an award-winning Senior Correspondent and International Affairs Analyst for CNN Brasil, currently based in London since November 2022. Previously, Martins served as Vice President of Content for CNN Brasil from 2019 to November 2022 and held several key roles at BBC, including Head of Americas & Europe, Head of Global Partnerships, Executive Editor for the Americas, and Senior News Editor for the Brazilian Service. With extensive experience in journalism, including leadership positions at EBC - Empresa Brasil de Comunicação and Rede TV!, Martins has managed large teams and covered significant international events throughout a career that began as a Writer and Assistant Editor at Folha de S.Paulo. Academically, Martins holds a Master of Science in Socio and Political Theory and a Master of Arts in International Journalism, among other qualifications from prestigious institutions in London.
