Nick Travers

Nick Travers is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in software engineering and site reliability engineering. Currently serving as a Senior Engineering Manager at Cockroach Labs, Nick leads the Storage and Change Data Capture teams, having previously held roles as an Engineering Manager and Software Engineer focusing on key-value database development. Prior experience includes software engineering positions at CloudNatix Inc. and CloudKitchens, contributing to cloud-based infrastructure and core platforms, with proficiency in open-source technologies such as Kubernetes and Istio. Nick also spent significant time at Square, where notable work included traffic management and data platform operations. Earlier career stages included consultancy at Deloitte Australia and tutoring in physics and computational mathematics at The University of Western Australia, where Nick obtained a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Applied Mathematics.
