Mike Lubey

Associate Director, Experience Design at Code and Theory

Mike Lubey has a diverse work experience in the field of design. Mike started as a Junior User Experience Designer at Code and Theory in March 2015 and gradually worked their way up to become an Associate Director of Interaction Design in August 2021. At Code and Theory, they have worked with a wide range of clients including Bloomberg, Scholastic, WWE, Chanel, NBC, and Microsoft.

In between their stints at Code and Theory, Mike worked as a Freelance Designer from May 2009 to March 2015, where they handled various design projects for different clients.

Additionally, they were a Graphic Designer at Graphix Group Inc from 2011 to 2012, where they designed graphics for multiple applications and led the entire design process from concept to installation.

Prior to that, they had an internship as a Graphic Designer at KTD Creative from December 2008 to July 2009, where they gained valuable experience working on print and web design projects for high-profile clients in Washington DC.

Mike's most recent role at Code and Theory has been as a Senior Interaction Designer, where they led the user experience and interaction design work on the CNN Magic Wall from 2018 to 2021. Mike collaborated closely with a large development team and client-side product ownership partners to manage and execute rapid feature development as needed per election cycle.

Mike Lubey pursued their education with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Graphic Design from Towson University, where they studied from 2005 to 2009. Mike furthered their education at Pratt Institute, earning a Master of Science (MS) in Communications Design between the years 2012 and 2014. In March 2019, Mike obtained certification in "Design Thinking: Understanding the Process" from LinkedIn.
