Marianne Anthonette Miranda

Marianne Anthonette (she/her) is a care-based researcher who loves digging into participatory research, research ops, and community organizing. Originally from Cebu, Philippines and raised in SoCal, Mari (rhymes with Atari) graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a B.S. in Liberal Arts & Engineering Studies.

While studying a hodgepodge of disciplines, Mari organized events for tech-focused student organizations and represented her major in the College of Liberal Arts Student Advisory Council (CLASAC) for two years. A lover of travel, she explored her interests in research (and transportation) through her UX research internship with Alaska Airlines and by leading her own research project about public transit culture in the City of San Luis Obispo.

Mari first jumped into Code for America’s volunteer network by spearheading research on the Brigade Organizer’s Playbook Extension Project. Energized by learning from the community, she was inspired to dive deeper into the network, where she then supported the Network Team on the Network ReVisioning project and other Brigade Program efforts.
