Sahoko Yui, PhD, is a seasoned professional in qualitative research and UX design, currently serving as a Senior Qualitative Researcher at Code for America since February 2023. Previous roles include UX Researcher at Google working on Google Earth, UX Researcher and Designer at Palo Alto Research Center (PARC), and UX/UI Designer at CareAR, a Xerox Company. Sahoko has also held academic positions as a researcher and lecturer at the University of California, Davis, focusing on institutional food waste behaviors and transportation studies. Education includes a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo, a Master’s in Transportation, and a PhD in Geography from the University of California, Davis. Contributions to environmental design and climate resilience were made as a research fellow at the Van Alen Institute.
