Chinping Chng

Associate Director, Molecular & Cellular Engineering Biotherapeutics at Codexis

Chinping Chng began their work experience in 2008 as a Scientist in Molecular & Cellular Engineering at Codexis. They worked on a project involving strain engineering and introduced heterologous pathways in a yeast strain for second generation biofuels. They successfully improved key performance indicators through various engineering approaches. In 2014, Chinping Chng became the Associate Director of Molecular & Cellular Engineering Biotherapeutics at Codexis, where they focused on protein engineering and used directed evolution technologies to develop better and novel therapeutics. They also managed a team of scientists and research associates and enjoyed mentoring budding scientists.

Chinping Chng pursued their education in the field of Chemical Engineering. Chinping first obtained their Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Florida Institute of Technology, which they attended from 1998 to 2002. Subsequently, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University, completing their studies from 2002 to 2007.
