Rick Maurer has extensive work experience in engineering and technology roles. Rick is currently the Chief Engineer at Cogito Innovations since December 2021. Prior to this, they worked as the Chief Engineer at Hegarty Research LLC from May 2019 to December 2021. Rick also served as a Senior IT Systems Engineer at Cyber Cloud Technologies LLC from January 2019 to May 2019.

Before their roles in the private sector, Rick held a position as the Division Chief - Technology Reconnaissance and Analysis at DISA from January 2011 to January 2019. Rick also worked as an Electronics Engineer C4 Systems and Networks SME at the Office of Naval Intelligence from September 2008 to January 2011.

Rick's career began at the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) in March 1985 as a Senior Electronics Engineer. Rick remained in this position until September 2008. Prior to this, they started their career as an Electronics Engineer at the Naval Air Test Center from August 1983 to March 1985.

Rick Maurer has a strong educational background. Rick earned a Master's degree in Organizational Leadership from Villanova University in 2016 after completing the program from 2015 to 2016. Prior to that, they obtained a Master's degree in Government Information Leadership from the National Defense University, where they studied from 2014 to 2016. In 2012, Rick attended the Harvard University Senior Executive Fellows Program, focusing on Executive Leadership.

Earlier in their education, Rick pursued a Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Florida Institute of Technology, which they obtained in 1985. Rick completed their Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering at Penn State University, where they studied from 1979 to 1983.

In addition to their formal education, Rick has obtained several certifications. In 2018, they became an ICAgile Certified Professional through ICAgile. In 2001, they became a member of the Acquisition Professional Community after completing the relevant certification program at Defense Acquisition University. Furthermore, they achieved DAWIA Level III Acquisition Career Field Certifications in Systems Planning Research Development and Engineering, as well as in Test and Evaluation, through the United States Department of Defense in December 1984 and October 1984, respectively.
