Torsten Kempf

Torsten Kempf has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering and system design methodology. Torsten started their career at the Institute for Integrated Signal Processing Systems in 2004, where they worked as a Research Scientist for six years before being promoted to the role of Chief Engineer. During their time at the institute, Torsten focused on research activities related to electronic system-level design, multiprocessor system-on-chip (MP-SoC), and software-defined radio (SDR).

In 2012, Torsten joined Intel Corporation as a System Design Methodology Engineer, where they worked until 2014. Following their tenure at Intel, they moved on to Cognex Corporation in 2015, starting as a Team Lead and Principal Software Engineer. Over the years, they progressed through various roles, including Engineering Manager for mobile and handheld products, Senior Manager for mobile engineering, and Senior Manager for advanced image formation systems. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Software Engineering at Cognex Corporation as of August 2022.

Torsten Kempf attended RWTH Aachen University from 1997 to 2004, where they obtained a degree in Electrical Engineering.
