Rebecca Harris has a diverse work experience spanning different industries. Rebecca began their career as an intern at Dawson Forte Cashmere, where they assisted in the development of a clothing line. Rebecca then worked as a production knitter at Robin Originals, where they produced hand-loomed garments and prepared them for shows. At KD Dance, they served as a technical designer, programming knitting machines and making technical adjustments to garments for a perfect fit.
Rebecca's experience in the fashion industry continued at Milford Design Studio, where they worked as a freelancer, creating knitdowns and researching trends. Rebecca then joined Appleseed's as a product development assistant, tracking the development process of sweaters and coordinating with overseas vendors.
Rebecca also has experience in the medical field. At Serica Technologies, they worked as an associate textile engineer, and later as a textile engineer, overseeing textile processes. Rebecca then joined Allergan Medical, initially as a textile engineer, where they directed and trained interns/technicians and operated textile equipment. Rebecca later became a manufacturing supervisor, leading a team in manufacturing medical devices, and finally a senior planner/buyer, ensuring adherence to demand and tracking orders.
Rebecca's medical writing experience includes their role as a medical writer at BEHAVIORAL NUTRITION, INC., where they compiled safety and efficacy information for regulatory documents related to medical devices.
Most recently, Rebecca joined Cognition Corporation as a technical writer and editor, writing documentation for software, refining style guidelines, and editing marketing materials. Rebecca has now taken on the role of Documentation Manager at the company.
Rebecca Harris holds a Master of Science degree in knit textile design, which they obtained from Philadelphia University from 1998 to 2001. Prior to that, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in English literature from Boston College between 1996 and 1998. Their undergraduate education consisted of a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and French, which they earned from Wellesley College during the years 1991 to 1995. It is also worth noting that Rebecca obtained a certification called "Become an Agile Project Manager Learning Path" from Lynda.com in April 2020.
