Joe Bormel, MD, MPH

Joe Bormel, MD, MPH has an extensive work experience in healthcare. Joe began their career in 1995 as the Chief Architect, Medical Management at Cerner Corporation. In 2001, they became the Vice President at QuadraMed. From 2005 to 2013, they served as a Program Committee at HealthTech Net and as the Medical Officer, Director of Health Outcomes at the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT at US Department of Health and Human Service. In 2014, they were the Vice President, Medical Informatics at Healthline Networks. From 2015 to 2019, they were the Principal at JIBB Enterprises, LLC and is currently the Chief Medical Officer at Cognitive Medical Systems, Inc.

Joe Bormel, MD, MPH has an extensive education history. Joe obtained their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 1984-1988. Joe then completed their Medical Internship and Residency at York Hospital, York, PA from 1988-1991. Following this, they obtained a Fellowship in Medical Informatics from Harvard/MIT National Library of Medicine and an MPH in Clinical Effectiveness from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, both from 1993-1995. Joe also completed a BESEE in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from The Johns Hopkins University. Lastly, they obtained a Physician Management certification from the American College of Physician Executives in 1997-1999.
