Martin Kou

Martin Kou has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Martin is currently the Co-Founder and CTO of CoinAlpha, Inc., where they developed Hummingbot, an open-source software for building market-making and arbitrage bots for digital assets. CoinAlpha focuses on providing market-making and liquidity solutions for digital assets and is backed by notable investors.

Prior to that, Martin worked as a Fund Manager at CoinAlpha Falcon LP, a quant hedge fund managing crypto assets. Martin created an automated trading strategy using machine learning algorithms for Bitcoin and Ethereum, which consistently outperformed the market and protected investors during the 2018 crypto crash.

Martin also has experience at Apple Inc. as a Senior Software Engineer, specializing in advanced technology and prototype projects. Martin mentored an engineering intern and collaborated with the Siri team during their time there.

In addition, Martin has entrepreneurial experience as the Co-Founder and Director of TixxMe, a startup where they were responsible for strategy, product design, software architecture, and coding. Martin also contributed to open-source projects during this time, including the development of Python and Objective-C libraries.

Before that, Martin co-founded their first tech startup, Think Bulbs Ltd., where they created popular iPhone apps, Puri! and SayCheeze, which garnered over 1 million unique users worldwide.

Early in their career, Martin worked at CKSource as a Core JavaScript Developer, contributing to the development of FCKeditor 2.5 to CKEditor 3.0.

Throughout their career, Martin Kou has demonstrated a strong technical and entrepreneurial skill set, making notable contributions in various industries.

Martin Kou attended The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology from 2004 to 2007, where they pursued a degree in Computer Engineering with a focus on Computer Science. In addition to their academic qualifications, they obtained a certification in Machine Learning from Coursera Course Certificates in December 2016.
