Beth Jones is an experienced planning professional currently serving as Principal Planning Policy Officer at Colchester City Council since July 2018, responsible for the delivery of the Colchester Local Plan and representing the council during the Examination in Public. Previously, Beth was a Development and Flood Risk Officer at Essex County Council and contributed to various planning and waste management initiatives. In addition to roles at the Royal Town Planning Institute, including Chair of the East of England Young Planners, Beth has also served on the Women in Planning committee. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Town Planning from Anglia Ruskin University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography and Natural Hazards from Coventry University.
