Nick Gustafson, PhD has a diverse work experience in the field of data science. Nick is currently working at Collective Health, where they started as a Data Scientist in January 2018. Nick then progressed to the role of Senior Data Scientist in November 2018, and later became a Staff Data Scientist in August 2020. Currently, they serve as a Data Science Manager since April 2021.
Prior to their current position, Nick worked as a Data Ambassador (Volunteer) at DataKind from March 2016 to October 2016, and as a Data Scientist at Udacity from October 2013 to November 2015. At Udacity, they were responsible for various data-related tasks such as building predictive models, performing ad hoc analyses, implementing data pipelines, and creating data dashboards.
Before entering industry, Nick had academic experience as a Predoctoral Fellow at New York University from September 2006 to May 2013. Nick also gained research experience as a Postbaccalaureate Research Fellow at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) from August 2004 to October 2005.

Nick Gustafson, PhD, completed their education in a chronological order. Nick earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Neurobiology from The University of Texas at Austin, where they studied from 2000 to 2004. Following that, they attended New York University from 2006 to 2013 and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Neuroscience.
In addition to their formal education, Nick Gustafson has also obtained several certifications in project management. Nick completed courses in "Project Planning: Putting it all together," "Agile Project Management," "Foundations of Project Management," and "Project Initiation: Starting a Successful Project" from Coursera in July and August 2022.
