Nicki Patel is an onboarding accountant at Collective. Nicki previously worked as a controller at Chastain Partners from April 2020 to November 2020. In their previous role, they assisted the financial reporting manager with reviewing month end close financials for multiple clients, prepared journal entries, maintained well-documented work-papers and checklists for journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes, reviewed the reasonableness of balance sheet and income statement accounts in order to determine that all necessary entries were recorded as part of the reconciliation process, reconciled monthly and yearly transactions and determined causes of variances to sustain accurate records, performed month and year end inventory reconciliations for intercompany purposes and accurate financial reporting, analyzed month-end financial data to ensure that it was recorded accurately, in accordance with GAAP, participated in marketing planning process, maintained checklist and other logs to ensure completeness in financials, supported and acted as back-up to other accounting team’s functions, assisted clients with tax and other compliance to include sales and use tax, city rendition forms, and federal tax documents as well as preparation for federal tax filings, and improved company processes for client through assisting, researching, and planning inventory management integration tools for multi-channel operation.

After completing their undergraduate degrees, Nicki Patel pursued a career in accounting and sports management. Nicki began their career as an accountant for a small firm. After a few years, they transitioned into sports management and became a consultant for a professional sports team.
