Beverly Russell has extensive work experience in the field of education. Beverly started their career in 1997 as the Lead Student Success Center Coordinator & Adjunct Faculty at the College of Southern Maryland. In this role, they developed study skills workshops, coordinated tutors and peer mentors, and provided support to at-risk students. Beverly continued working at the College of Southern Maryland as a Student Success Coordinator from 2011 to 2013, and then as an Enrollment Advisor/Recruitment from 2007 to 2011. Currently, they are working as an Adjunct Instructor at Southern New Hampshire University since 2020.
Beverly Russell completed their Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Adult Education and Developmental Studies at Walden University from 2014 to 2016. Prior to that, they obtained a B.S. in Social Sciences from the University of Maryland Global Campus in 2006 and an A.S.S. in Social Sciences from the College of Southern Maryland in 1997. Beverly is currently pursuing an MSDE in Distance Education from the University of Maryland Global Campus since 2009. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including "Phishing and Securing Information" from Southern New Hampshire University in 2024, "Pronouns: Why They Matter" from the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) in 2023, "Effective College Instruction" from ACUE in 2022, and completed courses such as "Learning How to Learn" and "Mindshift" from Coursera in 2017.
