James Brooks

James Brooks leads Human Resources at Collins Aerospace. In this role, he is responsible for all aspects of HR strategy, including the teams that lead talent management, leadership development, employee & labor relations, and compensation & benefits.

James brings has two decades of experience as Chief Human Resources Officer. He most recently served as vice president of Human Resources for Collins Aerospace’s Mechanical Systems strategic business unit, and he led Human Resources for the Aftermarket Services and Central Support Groups at UTC Aerospace Systems.

James’ professional career began at United Technologies Corporation (now Raytheon Technologies), joining the company through the HR Leadership Development Program. Over the last two decades, he’s worked at Otis, Pratt & Whitney, UTC Corporate and two businesses that now comprise Collins Aerospace (Hamilton Sundstrand and UTC Aerospace Systems) in a variety of HR functional areas, including total rewards, project management, talent management and as an HR partner.

James earned his Master of Business Administration degree from Michigan State University and Bachelor of Science in Finance from Jackson State University.
