Carol Gillam

Director, Foundation Marketing & Outreach at Colonial Williamsburg Foundation

Carol Gillam has worked for the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation since 2015, holding positions such as Director of Foundation Marketing & Outreach, Senior Digital Marketing Manager, and Merchants Square Marketing Manager. In these roles, they developed strategic digital marketing plans, implemented advertising strategies, and created marketing plans to promote Merchants Square as a shopping destination. Prior to their time at the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, Carol worked at the Mason School of Business / William & Mary from 2003 to 2015. Carol'spositions there included Marketing Account Manager, Strategic Event Manager, Event Coordinator, and Office Assistant. In these roles, they developed marketing strategies, planned and executed events, managed budgets, and coordinated with vendors and service providers.

Carol Gillam earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English Language and Literature, General from William & Mary from 2001 to 2004. Prior to that, they obtained an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Science from Richard Bland College from 1999 to 2001. Carol also holds additional certifications, including a Customer Experience Certificate from CX at University of Richmond in 2020 and a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) certification from the Convention Industry Council in 2010.
