Kai Chaplin

Kai Chaplin has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Kai began their career as a member of the Board of Executives and Newsletter Editor for the UBC Aqua Society, where they helped manage day-to-day activities, balanced the annual budget, and planned trips and events.

Kai then worked as a Marketing Intern and later as a Content Strategist at Visual Capitalist, where they developed the company's social media presence, managed email campaigns, and contributed to infographic development. Kai also oversaw infographic projects throughout their lifecycle, from research and creative briefs to distribution.

After that, Kai worked as a Deckhand on a super yacht, where they learned the importance of teamwork and communication during sailing maneuvers and regattas. Kai then became a 1st Mate on two other yachts, planning and executing luxury vacation trips for paying guests. Kai also worked alongside the Captain to oversee shipyard periods.

Kai then joined Monocle Event Management as a Director, leveraging their experience in the yachting industry to deliver destination management services in the Bahamas. Kai later worked at Blue Orchid Advertising Agency as a Content Creator, managing content production for various clients and collaborating with production and graphics teams.

Currently, Kai is employed at ColorBase, where they have held multiple roles. Kai first served as the Creative Lead for ColorBase Studios, managing the creative team and producing client videos and social media content. Kai then became the Marketing Lead before transitioning into their current role as the Product Manager for ColorBase Labs. In this role, they oversee the pre-launch development of software, collaborates with management and beta customers, and leads the Go-To-Market Strategy.

Throughout their career, Kai has demonstrated strong skills in project management, marketing, content production, and team leadership.

Kai Chaplin attended The University of British Columbia from 2007 to 2011, where they obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a concentration in Entrepreneurship. In addition to their academic achievements, they also obtained certifications as a PADI Divemaster from PADI - Professional Association of Diving Instructors in July 2011 and in CPR and First Aid from Emergency First Response in January 2011. It is unclear whether they obtained a certification as an RYA Yachtmaster Offshore from the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) as the obtained month and year are not provided.
