Richard Gonzales is the current General Counsel & Senior Inclusivity Officer at Colorado Mountain College. Richard has also previously served as a Partner at both GCR, LLP and Lindquist & Vennum.
Richard has provided legal counsel for acquisition and rehabilitation of affordable housing projects funded by tax credit investors, tax exempt bond purchasers and private commercial lenders. Richard has also given Disclosure Counsel, Bond Counsel, Issuer’s Counsel and Underwriters’ Counsel services for over $1.5 billion in public finance transactions. Additionally, Richard has served as Special Assistant Attorney General for a large State University and Counsel for non-profit instrumentalities or affiliates of municipalities and housing authorities.
At Lindquist & Vennum, Richard negotiated the acquisition of a multi-state telecommunications network from a bankrupt energy company. Richard also supervised due diligence investigations for several additional networks being evaluated by the client. Other notable work includes serving as local counsel for lending transactions on behalf of borrowers, settling a lawsuit over the use of redevelopment property, and advising trial counsel in lawsuits involving securities fraud, breach of fiduciary duty and dispute among owners of closely held organizations.
Throughout their career, Richard has advised both public and private clients on state and federal securities law compliance. Richard has also worked on a variety of business and real estate transactions for telecommunications, real estate and banking clients.
Richard Gonzales has a J.D. from Stanford Law School and a B.S. in Quantitative Methods from the University of Colorado Boulder - Leeds School of Business.
