Sarah Aboelela

Senior Product Development Scientist at Colorcon

Sarah Aboelela began their work experience as a Clinical Pharmacist at the Ministry of Health and Population of Egypt from September 2014 to July 2016. Sarah then worked at Virginia Commonwealth University, where they held various roles including Lab Assistant from April 2017 to July 2017, Graduate Research Assistant from August 2017 to present, and Graduate Teaching Assistant from August 2018 to November 2020. Currently, they are a Senior Product Development Scientist at Colorcon® since December 2021. At Virginia Commonwealth University, they focused on developing synthetic lung surfactant formulations and their in-vitro characterization as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Dr. Michael Hindle Research Group and Aerosol Research Group. Sarah also taught Doctor of Pharmacy students mathematical and physiological principles of pharmacokinetics as well as the foundation of pharmacy.

Sarah Aboelela completed their education at Virginia Commonwealth University from 2017 to 2021, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Prior to that, they attended Cairo University from 2008 to 2013, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Clinical Pharmacy. Sarah'sfield of study in both institutions focused on pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences.
