Cathy Salter

Cathy Salter is a distinguished columnist and author, currently contributing a weekly column titled "Notes From Boomerang Creek" to the Columbia Daily Tribune and the Boone County Journal since September 1997. Salter's literary work includes the book "Notes from Breakfast Creek," which was reviewed in the New York Review of Books on July 7, 2012. Prior experience includes serving as a Geography Educator for the National Geographic Society from June 1987 to October 1988, where coordination of the Missouri Geographic program spanned 13 years. Additionally, Salter taught Geography and History in the Los Angeles Unified School District from September 1975 to June 1987 and volunteered with the Peace Corps in Bangkok, Thailand, from August 1967 to February 1970, focusing on teaching English as a Second Language. Salter holds a Bachelor's degree in History from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, earned between 1963 and 1967.
