Sohail Khwaja has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Sohail started their career as a Principal Consultant at KnowledgeSource in 2000. Sohail then worked as the Director of IT at Kellstrom Industries in 2001. From 2001 to 2007, they worked as a Principal at Zen PM Inc, where they provided SCM consulting services. Sohail then worked as a Project Manager at RedPrairie Corporation from 2007 to 2010, leading software implementations and managing customer relationships.
In 2011, Sohail became an Adjunct Professor at the University of Pittsburgh, where they taught until 2014. Sohail also served as a Governor at Westmoreland Conservancy from 2011 to 2015. During this time, they held the role of Treasurer and was responsible for the stewardship of land under Conservancy care. In 2012, they also became an Adjunct Professor at California University of Pennsylvania, teaching until 2014.
In 2014, Sohail joined the Columbia Medical Practice, initially working as a Process and Analytics Consultant, where they analyzed data and developed dashboards for quality measurement. Sohail then progressed to the role of Director - Finance, Analytics, Technology, where they handled financial activities, accounting processes, and management reporting. From 2017 to 2020, they took on the role of Chief Financial Officer/IT/QI/PR, overseeing revenue cycles, procurement, clinical analytics, and patient relations. In December 2020, they were promoted to the position of Executive Director (CEO), where they currently serve.
In addition to their professional roles, Sohail has also demonstrated their leadership abilities as a Director at Jinnah Initiative for Diplomacy. Throughout their career, they have showcased their expertise in financial management, analytics, process improvement, and IT infrastructure.
Sohail Khwaja MIBS CMPE (Board Eligible) completed their education at the Darla Moore School of Business. From 1982 to 1986, they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) with a specialization in Finance. Following this, they pursued a Master's in International Business Studies (MIBS) from 1987 to 1989. In addition to their educational background, Sohail Khwaja also holds a certification as ACMPE Board Eligible from MGMA, which they obtained in 2018.
