Yunji Gu

Yunji Gu, PE, is a skilled product engineer with extensive experience in new product development and engineering management. Currently employed at Columbus McKinnon since 2020, Yunji focuses on wire rope hoist and overhead crane solutions, performing calculations to ensure compliance with ASME and FEM standards. Previously, as Product Development Lead at Palmetto Pedic, Yunji managed the development of memory foam products while overseeing plant operations and supply chain initiatives. Prior experience includes mechanical engineering at Sealed Air Corporation, where Yunji led the design of foam packaging equipment and improved product yields, as well as research at Georgia Institute of Technology, specializing in airflow analysis in data centers. Yunji holds both a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, alongside education from Iowa State University and the University of Valencia.
