Javier García-Verdugo is currently serving as the Chief Economic Advisor of the Spanish National Authority for Markets and Competition (CNMC) since May 2014. Prior to this role, Javier was a Partner at Élan Forensic from January 2013 to May 2014, providing expert witness and technical support in national and international litigation and arbitration. Javier's academic experience includes positions as a Professor in various economic fields at UNED from March 2001 to May 2014, and visiting roles at Universidad de La Sabana and Universidad de Navarra. Additionally, Javier has served as a Visiting Fellow at Princeton University. Educational credentials include a Degree in Economics and Business from CUNEF Universidad, doctoral coursework in Applied Economics from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and a PhD in Economics focused on energy futures markets from Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED).
