Doug Goodman

Doug Goodman currently serves as the Assistant Town Manager for Internal Operations in Ashland, Virginia, where responsibilities include providing senior advisory support to the Town Manager, overseeing grants management, council relations, and acting as FOIA and records officer. Previously, Doug held the position of Chief of Police in Ashland and has extensive law enforcement experience, including roles as Lieutenant in the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office and as a team leader and assessor for CALEA. Additionally, Doug is involved as a consultant for Altumint, focusing on community safety, and as an instructor and subject matter expert for the Virginia Center for Policing Innovation. Doug holds an M.P.A in Public Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University and has completed multiple leadership and organizational studies at respected institutions.
