Mitch Friesen has a diverse work experience beginning in 2013 when they were a Resident Advisor at Azusa Pacific University. In 2014, they were an Executive Team Member at the Free Methodist Church in Southern California and a Leadership House Advisor at Azusa Pacific University. From 2015 to 2019, they were employed at Cancer for College, first as an Interim Office Manager, then as Director of Growth & Community, and finally as AR/AP Specialist. In 2019, they joined Common Thread Collective as Director of Finance and Finance Manager. During their time at Cancer for College, they researched and implemented NetSuite CRM, performed bookkeeping, administered the online application platform, led three audits, researched and implemented Slack, ClickUp, and DialPad, maximized scholar engagement, coordinated fundraising events, created a professional mentoring platform, launched a social media strategy, supervised the scholarship committee, and introduced data analysis. At the Free Methodist Church, they supported the Assistant Superintendent of Administration with strategic planning and implementation, conducted extensive research, and operated QuickBooks and budgeting for a church and school. At Azusa Pacific University, they facilitated leadership development for 25 students, developed and enacted overall house vision with APU faculty resource partner, and oversaw a 4-member team.
