Abby Wood

Abby Wood began their professional career in 2019 when they became a Public Relations Intern at Air Safari. In this role, they were responsible for content creation on Air Safari's website and travel catalogue. Abby also assisted with communication operations by creating travel blogs, connecting with customers, copywriting, and portraying their creativity. Later that year, Abby became a Communications Intern at DaVita Kidney Care, where they assisted with internal and external communications, and earned media coverage through pitching and media relations. Abby also focused on creating a competitor analysis tool in Excel and Tableau. In 2020, Abby joined the Communications Strategy Group (CSG®) as an Associate, then a Coordinator, and then a Strategy Group Intern. Abby then became a Senior Associate with an industry focus on Education with an emphasis in higher education. In this role, Abby managed client accounts, made strategic recommendations, designed and executed campaigns, recommended distribution methods for content, supported the implementation of social (organic and paid media), secured earned media, reported on KPIs, and managed the budget. Abby earned gold stars for securing earned media hits in Forbes, SHRM, Inside Higher Ed, The Chronicle of Higher Education, University Business, TIMES Higher Education, The Wall Street Journal, CIO Dive, and more. Also in 2020, Abby joined the Travel Industry Marketing Association (TIMA) as a Communications and Public Relations Coordinator. In this role, they founded their public relations practice and contributed in campaign planning for various clients and the company itself. Abby also used various tactics and strategies to help clients effectively communicate with their target audience while navigating an uncertain economic situation due to the pandemic.

Abby Wood holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Public Relations from the University of Colorado Boulder.
