Katrina Pavlik

Katrina Pavlik has a diverse work experience spanning over 20 years. Katrina currently holds the position of Associate Director of Operations and Human Capital at Communities In Schools (CIS) of Chicago. Prior to this, they worked as a Human Capital Manager at the same organization.

Before joining CIS, Katrina served as the Deputy Executive Director at Science Olympiad, Inc., where they were responsible for external relations and operations. Katrina played a key role in strengthening relationships with peer organizations, supporting a community of coaches, mentors, and students, and increasing awareness of the organization. Katrina also led strategic funding plans and secured grants and sponsorships amounting to over $150K.

Katrina's experience also includes founding and chairing Breastfeed Chicago, a non-profit organization dedicated to removing barriers to breastfeeding for parents in the Chicagoland area. Katrina led the board and volunteers, developed business plans, funding documents, and outreach strategies, gaining recognition in local newspapers and radio.

At City Colleges of Chicago-Richard J Daley College, Katrina served as the Director of Community Education Programs. Katrina oversaw all non-credit programming for pre-K to adult students, including programmatic development, partnership building, and budget management. During their tenure, they introduced over 30 new courses and managed a budget exceeding $200,000.

Before their director role, Katrina held various positions at CIS of Chicago, starting as a Community Partnerships Manager and later earning multiple promotions. In this role, they led the Community Partnership Team, building relationships with over 200 community agencies serving CIS's network schools. Katrina excelled in strategic planning, goal setting, and program monitoring, exceeding personal and team goals consistently. Katrina also served as an Adjunct Instructor at City Colleges of Chicago-Richard J Daley College and a Site Director at Newton Learning.

Earlier in their career, Katrina worked as a classroom teacher in the Chicago Public Schools system, earning an "excellent" evaluation from their principal. Katrina also gained experience as an Agency/School Coordinator at CIS of Chicago and as an Ally at Public Allies.

Katrina Pavlik graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Welfare and Theatre (Acting) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1999. Later on, they pursued a Master's certificate in Organizational Development from North Park University between 2019 and 2020. In 2005, they earned a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Instructional Leadership - Elementary Option from the University of Illinois Chicago.
