Joshua Young

Joshua Young has extensive experience in social work and education, with a focus on serving at-risk populations. Currently serving as a Social Work Intern at Communities In Schools of Richmond since September 2015, Joshua engages in case management and program development for students at Fairfield Middle School. Previous roles include a Service-Learning Teacher Assistant at Virginia Commonwealth University, where Joshua facilitated group discussions and mentorship for service learning students, and a Summer Camp Counselor at Brilliant Summer, leading creative programs for young campers. Additional internships at Friends Association for Children and Vasilios Community Development Corporation involved mentoring youth and assisting with program operations. Joshua’s experience as a Corps Member with AmeriCorps NCCC further highlights a commitment to community service and collaboration for disaster preparedness and educational outreach. Joshua holds a degree from Virginia Commonwealth University, completed in 2016.
