Richard Edwards has a diverse work experience in the healthcare and human services industry. Richard started their career in 1998 as a Program Administrator at Three Springs of North Carolina. Richard then joined Easter Seals UCP North Carolina & Virginia, where they held various positions, including Senior Director of Quality Management, Vice President of QI/Service Lines, and Executive Vice President. In these roles, they provided strategic leadership, implemented innovative best practices, and drove system changes to support social impact. Richard also worked at The Council on Quality & Leadership as a Quality Enhancement Specialist, where they reviewed human services agencies and provided training and consultation. Richard later joined Benchmarks - An Alliance of Agencies Helping Children, Adults & Families as an Advocacy Director, where they focused on community development projects and advocated for policy and system change. Currently, Richard serves as the Vice President and Regional Vice President at Community Based Care, LLC, where they provide statewide leadership and support for providers serving individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
Richard Edwards attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 1987 to 1991, where they earned their Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Richard then pursued further education at the same university from 1993 to 1995 and obtained a Master of Science degree in Rehabilitation Counseling.
