Li-San Tan currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) since January 2020, previously holding the position of CEO Designate. Prior experience includes the role of Deputy Secretary at the Ministry of Communications and Information from November 2013 to January 2020 and Senior Director at the Public Service Division, where responsibilities involved the Strategic Policy Office and the Centre for Strategic Futures from August 2010 to August 2013. Concurrently, Li-San Tan directed the Institute of Governance and Policy at the Civil Service College during that same period. Previous roles also include Director in the Social Programmes Directorate at the Singapore Ministry of Finance from October 2005 to July 2009 and Deputy Director at the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources between July 2002 and June 2005. Li-San Tan's educational background includes a Master of Science in Management from Stanford University (2009-2010 and 1997-1998) and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University (1994-1997).
