Ric Ilgenfritz

Ric Ilgenfritz currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer at Community Transit, a position held since January 2021. Prior to this role, Ric was the Vice President and Puget Sound Market Leader at David Evans and Associates, Inc. from October 2017 to January 2021. Ric’s extensive experience in transit planning and development includes serving as Executive Director for Planning, Environment, and Project Development at Sound Transit from May 2001 to September 2017, where efforts focused on expanding the mass transit system in Seattle. Ric also held roles at the U.S. Department of Commerce as Columbia Basin Coordinator and in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives, contributing to transportation policy. Education includes a BA in Journalism from the University of Oregon and leadership training from the Eno Foundation for Transportation Leadership and the Daniel Rose Center for Public Leadership.
