Isabel Valencia

Isabel Valencia is an accomplished R&D Laboratory Manager at Levapan since February 2021, overseeing microbiology and product evaluation laboratories, along with providing pure culture yeast for various applications. Previously, Isabel held the position of Plant Pilot Head, focusing on experimental bioprocesses and new product development in cosmetics. Isabel's career also includes significant roles at Sucroal S.A. as Head of the microbiology laboratory for a citric acid plant, where efforts were made to enhance citric acid production, and at Tate & Lyle Sugars as a Research and Development Microbiologist specializing in strain improvement. Early experience includes a role as Fuel Alcohol Microbiologist at Ingenio Risaralda S.A. Isabel Valencia holds a Bachelor's degree in Bacteriology from Universidad del Valle and two specialist degrees in Quality Management and Technical Standardization, and Molecular Biology and Biotechnology from Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira.
