Donne Estipona has a diverse work experience that spans from 2008 to present. From 2008 to 2012, they worked as a Lab Technician and Undergraduate Researcher at UC Santa Cruz, where they developed protocols for generating fusion constructs using Gateway cloning and for transformation of constructs into C. elegans by microparticle bombardment. From 2012 to 2015, they worked as a Graduate Student Researcher at San Francisco State University, where they developed methods for large scale culturing and biomass collection of a unique thermophilic isolate for native protein purification, as well as designed a microplate-based biochemical assay for characterizing an unidentified metabolic enzyme. Lastly, from 2015 to present, they have worked as a Senior Content Editor and Content Editor at CompareNetworks, Inc., where they have been responsible for analysis and curation of life science product data for end-user focused categorization, life science content writing, and producing engaging scientific content on social media.
Donne Estipona attended Lowell High School from 2003 to 2007. Donne then earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz between 2007 and 2011. In 2019, they completed a Master's Degree in Microbiology from San Francisco State University.
