Karoon Mackenchery, ASA

Karoon Mackenchery, ASA has a diverse work experience that spans across multiple industries. In 2014, Karoon served as a Summer Research Intern at the US Army Research Lab, where they utilized computational resources to investigate failure at the atomic level for various armored materials. Their research project findings were selected to be presented at the Summer Symposium.

In the following year, Karoon worked as a Graduate Student Research Assistant at the Institute of Materials Science. In this role, they computationally researched the deformation of armored materials using U.S. Army and UConn supercomputers. Their work involved modeling, analyzing, manipulating, and visualizing large amounts of data, amounting to over 4 TB.

From 2016 to 2021, Karoon joined Cigna as an Actuarial Lead Analyst.

Currently, Karoon holds positions at Compass Mining. They first started as a Risk Manager in August 2021 and later transitioned to the role of Director of Risk in August 2022.

Karoon Mackenchery, ASA, obtained a Bachelor's degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Connecticut. In December 2020, they also achieved the Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) certification from the Society of Actuaries.
