Bill came to work at Strom Manufacturing in 1987 when the company was owned by Bill’s father, Richard. At that time, Richard and Bill’s mother, Darlyn, were in the process of relocating the firm from their garage to an industrial park in Hillsboro, OR. Over the years, Bill’s role changed and grew as the company expanded, adding both customers and equipment. In 2008, Bill purchased the firm from his father. Then in 2013, to support continued growth, Bill and his wife, Kathy, purchased Strom Manufacturing’s current building in North Plains and moved the company there. Finally, in 2022, Bill sold the company to Compass Precision.
Bill continues to serve as President of Strom Manufacturing. Being able to offload numerous administrative duties to others within Compass has allowed Bill to be able to focus on aspects of Strom’s business he truly enjoys, including programming the most complicated parts the company makes.
