Carole Harvey

Therapeutic Community Consultant and researcher at CompDrug

Carole Harvey has an extensive work experience in the field of behavioral health and substance abuse. Carole has been teaching at The Ohio State University since 2013, instructing courses related to program and policy evaluation, substance abuse, and mental health. Carole also worked as an adjunct instructor at Marion Community College from 1997 to 1999.

In 2010, they joined CARF International as a Behavioral Health Surveyor, where they conducted on-site surveys and provided recommendations for organizations seeking accreditation. Carole also worked as a consultant for CARF accreditation preparation and maintenance.

From 2015, Carole worked at CompDrug as a Therapeutic Community Consultant and researcher. Carole later became the Chief Compliance Officer until February 2020.

Prior to that, Carole worked at Amethyst, Inc. from 2008 to 2014, holding various positions such as Chief Clinical Officer, Program Director, and QI Director. Carole'sresponsibilities included quality/process improvement, grants management, program oversight, clinical supervision, and coordination of federal grant implementation.

Carole's earlier experience includes working as a Program Director at the West Central Community Correctional Facility from 1998 to 2008. In this role, they developed and supervised various services within a correctional therapeutic community program for non-violent felony offenders. Carole also took leadership in statewide training curriculum development for therapeutic community professionals and conducted research on recidivism and network analysis related to offender participation.

Carole Harvey earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Social Work from The Ohio State University, which they attended from 2002 to 2010. Prior to that, from 1989 to 1992, they pursued their Masters in Social Science Administration at Case Western Reserve University, specializing in Social Work.
